Disney’s The Little Mermaid Lighting Design
The Barbara Ingram School for the Performing Arts certain decided to challenge themselves to the extreme in their 2106 spring musical production of “The Little Mermaid.” In addition to deploying aerial systems to fly performers (by http://www.flybyfoy.com), the decided to incorporate cartoon projections in lieu of using the standard backdrops. Both of these elements provided a very serious challenge on the lighting design.
We were very excited to be able to provide lighting fixtures and lighting design services in association with Triforce Pro Audio (www.triforceproaudio.com) for the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts’ spring production of Shrek! The show ran for two weekends (April 17th through the 26th) at the Maryland Theater in Hagerstown, Maryland. The performances were simply outstanding!
We provided eight intelligent LED moving fixtures, six intelligent moving head spots, as well as ground fog special FX. All programming was performed on ETC’s Ion console, which allowed us to seamlessly program all of the moving fixtures and conventional lights in record time. Additionally, all of the cues were simple enough for anyone to run (such as a tech, a student, or a parent).
We cannot wait to be a part of next year’s show as well!
